Tomato and Basil Salad with Sherry Vinegar Dressing was very fresh and was a perfect starter for me.
Then I had Whiskey Barrel Wood Smoked Salmon for the second appetizer. The salmon comes with the lid and the server opens it in front of you. The amount of seasoning is just right and salmon was very fresh and high quality. It comes with grain bread and a lemon.
The entree scorched dry-aged steak was medium-well-done by the chef’s recommendation. Unlike the regular beef, this one had a somewhat uniform taste but rich flavor of aged beef.
The dessert mini chocolate truffles came with 6 small pieces and were very sweet.
Generally not bad. Certain dishes such as the crispy duck salad of the seasonal menu were excellent. However, the decor, service, and menu all seem a bit… fake. It has a slight disneylandish vibe. The “Pasta with black truffles”, served in a wheel of cheese, does not actually appear to be made with fresh truffles or much of the cheese. Rather, the little brown speckles in the pasta are pieces of mushroom, not even listed as part of the dish. The service isn’t bad. Also stay away from the tartar.
The Ivy is a wonderful restaurant for a business meal. Beautifully decorated and great hostesses.
The food is reasonable. Burger was above average and the warm crispy duck salad was interesting. The cheesecake dessert looked spectacular and tasted above average.
Waiter service could improve quite a bit. Service staff seemed like they were still in training and didn’t mesh with the professional/well decorated restaurant environment.
